Part of a silly AU project ~Lake-Mountian and I have been tossing back and forth for a while, in which the Akatsuki are the board of directors for an evil multinational corporation.
Itachi Uchiha was born into one of the premier society families of New England. His father was a lawyer, and his father before him, and his father before him, all the way back to the American Civil War. Itachi entered Yale Law School at the age of 16, and graduated the top of his class. Instead of immediately becoming a full partner in the Prestigious Uchiha, Uchiha, and Uchiha LLP law firm, Itachi chose to become a District Attorney. Then only a few years later he filed a malpractice suit against Uchiha, Uchiha, and Uchiha LLP and won. Thus one of the wealthiest families in America was bankrupted. Mr. Uchiha then went into private practice as the Head of Legal Affairs for the Akatsuki, where he continues to work protecting the company and its interests. |

Silly it might be, but that seems like a totally awesome project to me. :0

I prefer fictional characters.
I'd be HIS secretary any day. ;D

And, uh, the company really isn't. Ummm. It would take food from an innocent, starving, third world orphan child. In fact, it probably made that child a orphan, and starving. The company also in all likelihood is using that child for slave labour, while drafting his or her older siblings into the army of the neighboring dictator, which the organization supports and funds. Never mind, the fact it employed the mercenaries that shot the child's father and raped then violently strangled her.
Yep, It believes in helping those less fortunates. It gave the child and his or her siblings jobs.
The company also happens to enjoy a cheap supply of drugs from that child's country courtesy of its current administration, likely a dictator. Drugs it then transports around the world and uses to suppress the populations or encourage civil wars as it sees fit. As well as just selling it on the street.
Then, of course, there are the millions of business the company has destroyed through legal and illegal means. Like Starbucks, Akatsuki Ltd. sets up right next door to the local competitor. It then, unlike Starbucks, sends its salaried thugs to smash up the competitor, or simply misdirected supply trucks, or wrong deliveries, assassination if they can get away with it. Legal expenses and jail time are the greatest expense for the mob. They need a good defense lawyer on call.
Mainly, the company just has to deal with laws and write-up contracts. Environmental laws, provisions against monopolies, tax law, civil suits, corruption charges, and the such like. It needs contracts to set-up subsidiaries, for partnerships and joint ventures, employment contracts, ones with subcontractors, suppliers, and customers. Plus, the management needs protection from the law. They have some very bad hobbies.

If you want to polish and copy-paste that into an actual deviation (a literature-style scrap, say) I'll link to it from the artist's note, and maybe my next journal too.
